Description
The GBV-120-385-1+1FM is a Class II surge protective device (SPD) designed for lightning overvoltage protection of single-phase AC power supplies. It combines an L-N protection path and an N-PE protection path in one unit, with a nominal discharge current In of 60kA and a maximum discharge current Imax of 120kA.
Product Overview
The device is intended for Class II lightning overvoltage protection on single-phase AC power. It has a nominal operating voltage Un of 220V~, a maximum continuous operating voltage Uc of 385V~ for the L-N path, and a maximum continuous operating voltage Uc of 255V~ for the N-PE path. Voltage protection levels are 3.0kV for L-N and 2.0kV for N-PE, both measured at In with an 8/20µs waveform.

Applications
The GBV-120-385-1+1FM is used for Class II lightning overvoltage protection of single-phase AC power supplies. It is suitable for installation at distribution points where a single-phase AC supply requires L-N and N-PE surge protection.
Installation and Use
The device can be connected using conventional direct parallel wiring or V-shaped wiring. For better protection with direct parallel wiring, keep the connection conductors as short as possible, with a total length within 0.5m. Use 25-35mm² multi-core copper conductors for the main connections.
A suitable air circuit breaker or fuse must be connected in series ahead of the SPD; the circuit breaker should have a C trip characteristic. The power supply must be disconnected during installation; live operation is strictly prohibited, and the connecting conductors must meet the specified requirements.
During normal operation, the status indicator window is white and the alarm dry contact NC-COM is in the conducting state. When the SPD fails, the status indicator turns red and the NC-COM alarm dry contact changes to the open state. The SPD requires no special maintenance; periodically check whether the module is loose and whether the status indication is normal.
The SPD should be replaced promptly if either of the following occurs: the status indicator turns red, or the alarm dry contact changes to the open state.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the status indicator window show?
The window is white during normal operation and turns red when the SPD has failed.
How does the remote-signalling contact behave?
The changeover contact NC-COM is normally closed and conducting during normal operation. It changes to the open state when the SPD fails.
What conductor size is required for the main connections?
Use 25-35mm² multi-core copper conductors. The terminal connection capacity is ≤35mm², and the maximum torque is 3.5Nm~4.5Nm.
