Description

The G1V-60/385/B+C FM is a Class II surge protective device (SPD) intended for lightning overvoltage protection of three-phase AC power supplies. It is rated for a nominal operating voltage of 230V/400V~ and combines a metal-oxide varistor path between L and N with a gas discharge tube path between N and PE.

Product Overview

The SPD is classified as Class II and is designed for installation in three-phase AC power distribution. The L-N path uses a maximum continuous operating voltage Uc of 385V~, while the N-PE path uses a Uc of 255V~. Nominal discharge current In is 30 kA and maximum discharge current Imax is 60 kA.

The unit is a hot-swappable plug-in module. A trip status indicator shows green during normal operation and red when the protection has tripped and failed. A remote signalling contact (NC-COM, normally closed) is provided for status monitoring.

Applications

The G1V-60/385/B+C FM is used for Class II lightning overvoltage protection of three-phase AC power supplies, with L-N and N-PE protection paths. It is suited to AC power distribution arrangements where a plug-in, hot-swappable SPD module with remote status signalling is required.

Installation and Use

The SPD is installed as a hot-swappable plug-in module. Insertion depth is 17–19 mm for the main busbar and 11–12 mm for the remote signalling connection. Insertion and extraction force on the frame is ≤100 N and ≤75 N respectively, and the circuit breaker is rated for 200 insertion/extraction cycles.

During normal operation the trip status indicator is green and the NC-COM alarm contact is closed (conductive). When the SPD has failed, the indicator turns red and the NC-COM contact opens.

The remote signalling contact is rated 250V/0.5A AC and 125V/0.2A DC. The housing protection degree is IP20, and the operating temperature and humidity range is -40℃ to +80℃ at a relative humidity of ≤95%. Installation altitude is ≤3000 m.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the trip status indicator show?

The indicator is green when the SPD is operating normally and red when the protection has tripped and failed.

How does the remote signalling contact behave?

The NC-COM contact is normally closed and conductive during normal operation. When the SPD fails, the contact opens.

What are the voltage protection levels?

The L-N voltage protection level Up is ≤1.8 kV and the N-PE voltage protection level Up is ≤1.5 kV, both measured at In with an 8/20 µs waveform.

What is the maximum discharge current?

The maximum discharge current Imax is 60 kA, with a nominal discharge current In of 30 kA.
