Applications

The GBV-100-385-3+1 FM is used for lightning overvoltage protection of three-phase AC power systems. It is suitable for installation in AC power distribution systems requiring Class I surge protection.

Installation and Use

The device can be connected using direct parallel wiring or V-shaped wiring as shown in the wiring diagram. For better protection performance with direct parallel wiring, the wiring should be as short as possible, with total length controlled within 0.5m.

Connecting conductors should be 16-35mm² multi-strand copper wire. A suitable circuit breaker or fuse must be connected in series at the front end of the device; the circuit breaker should have a C trip characteristic.

Power must be disconnected during installation. Live operation is strictly prohibited, and connecting conductors must meet the requirements.

When the device is operating normally, the status indicator window should be white and the alarm dry contact NC-COM should be in a conducting state. When the device fails, the status indicator turns red and the alarm dry contact NC-COM becomes an open circuit.

The device requires no special maintenance; only regular checks are needed to confirm the module is not loose and the status indicator is normal.

The device is considered failed and should be replaced promptly if either of the following occurs: the status indicator turns red, or the alarm dry contact becomes an open circuit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the status indicator show?

The status indicator window shows white during normal operation and red when the device has failed.

What is the difference between the L-N and N-PE voltage protection levels?

The L-N voltage protection level Up is 3.0kV, and the N-PE voltage protection level Up is 2.3kV, both measured at In@8/20µs.

How is the device mounted?

The device is designed for 35mm DIN rail mounting.

What conductor size is recommended for connection?

Connecting conductors should be 16-35mm² multi-strand copper wire.
