Description

The G1V-80/385/B+C FM is a Class II surge protection device (SPD) designed for lightning overvoltage protection of three-phase AC power systems. It combines L-N and N-PE protection paths in a hot-swappable plug-in module with local trip status indication and a remote signalling contact.

Product Overview

The G1V-80/385/B+C FM is a three-phase AC power surge protection device classified as Class II. It is rated for a nominal operating voltage Un of 230V/400V~, with a maximum continuous operating voltage Uc of 385V~ for the L-N path and 255V~ for the N-PE path. The device provides a nominal discharge current In of 40 kA and a maximum discharge current Imax of 80 kA.

The SPD is installed using a hot-swappable plug-in configuration. A trip status indicator shows normal operation in green and a tripped/failed state in red. An NC-COM remote signalling contact changes from closed to open when the SPD fails, allowing status to be monitored remotely.

Applications

The G1V-80/385/B+C FM is intended for lightning overvoltage protection of three-phase AC power systems. It is suitable for installation in low-voltage power distribution environments where Class II surge protection is required for L-N and N-PE paths.

Installation and Use

The SPD is installed using a hot-swappable plug-in method. The insertion/extraction force is 160 N, and the circuit breaker is rated for 200 insertion/extraction cycles. Insertion depth is 17–19 mm for the main busbar and 11–12 mm for the remote signalling connection.

During normal operation, the trip status indicator is green and the NC-COM alarm contact is closed (conductive). When the SPD fails, the indicator turns red and the NC-COM contact opens. The remote signalling contact is rated for 250V/0.5A AC and 125V/0.2A DC.

The housing protection rating is IP20. The operating temperature range is -40℃ to +80℃ with relative humidity ≤95%. The maximum operating altitude is 3000 m.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the trip status indicator show?

The indicator is green during normal operation and red when the SPD has tripped or failed.

How does the remote signalling contact behave?

The NC-COM contact is normally closed (conductive) during normal operation and opens when the SPD fails.

What is the maximum discharge current of the G1V-80/385/B+C FM?

The maximum discharge current Imax is 80 kA, with a nominal discharge current In of 40 kA.
