Description
The GCV-60/385/1+1 is a Class II surge protective device (SPD) intended for lightning overvoltage protection of single-phase AC power supplies. It protects the L-N and N-PE paths and is installed as a parallel-connected device on a 35mm DIN rail.
Product Overview
The GCV-60/385/1+1 is a single-phase AC power surge protective device classified as SPD Class II. Its nominal operating voltage Un is 220V~, with a maximum continuous AC operating voltage Uc of 385V~ for the L-N path and 255V~ for the N-PE path. The device carries a nominal discharge current In of 30kA and a maximum discharge current Imax of 60kA.
Voltage protection levels are 2.0kV for L-N and 1.0kV for N-PE, both measured at In under an 8/20µs waveform. Response times are 25ns for L-N and 100ns for N-PE. A status indicator window shows green when the device is normal and red when it has failed.

Applications
The GCV-60/385/1+1 is used for Class II lightning overvoltage protection of single-phase AC power supplies. It is suitable for installation at distribution points where single-phase AC equipment requires surge protection on the L-N and N-PE paths.
Installation and Use
The device can be connected in the conventional direct parallel wiring arrangement. For better protection performance with direct parallel wiring, keep the connecting conductors as short as possible, with a total length controlled within 0.5m.
Connecting conductors should be 10-25mm² multi-core copper conductors. A suitable circuit breaker or fuse must be connected in series ahead of the GCV-60/385/1+1; the circuit breaker should use a C tripping characteristic.
Power must be disconnected before installation. Live operation is strictly prohibited, and connecting conductors must meet the specified requirements.
When the SPD is operating normally, its status indicator window should be green. When the SPD has failed, the status indicator turns red.
The SPD requires no special maintenance; only periodic checks are needed to confirm that the module is not loose and that the status indication is normal.
The SPD can be judged as failed and should be replaced promptly if the status indicator turns red.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the status indicator window show?
The window shows green when the SPD is normal and red when the SPD has failed. A red indication means the device should be replaced promptly.
What conductor size and torque are specified?
Connecting conductors should be 10-25mm² multi-core copper conductors, and the conductor connection capacity is ≤25mm². The maximum torque is 3.2Nm~3.7Nm.
How should the SPD be connected?
It can be connected in a conventional direct parallel arrangement. For better protection, keep the connecting conductors as short as possible, with a total length within 0.5m, and install a suitable circuit breaker or fuse with C tripping characteristic in series ahead of the SPD.
